Crispy Topping:
3/4 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 cup butter
Apple Mixture:
4 cups sliced apples (about 6)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp lemon juice
Crispy Topping: In small bowl, combine oats, sugar, flour, wheat germ and cinnamon. With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.
Apple Mixture: Arrange apples in greased 6-cup casserole. Sprinkle with sugar, water and lemon juice. Sprinkle Crispy Topping evenly over fruit.
Bake in 375°F oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or cold.
